Hey guys! Long time no post. I think I'm pretty much retiring the JonnyWorld blog pages now due to Facebook and Twitter taking over and not having enough time to do it. Who knows though, I may decided to have a big rant sometime.

The blog pages will still be here though for website news and as an achive though. I'll also be opening up the Forum archives at some point too (which has been requested a lot).

In the meantime enjoy the shiny new minimum effort JonnyWorld 5.0 website and hit me up on Facebook or something.

Overnight figures show an average of 6.1 million viewers tuned into BBC One on Saturday evening to see Matt Smith revealed as the Eleventh Doctor.

The special edition of Doctor Who Confidential had a share of 29.6% of the total audience and outrated the FA Cup on ITV1 which had around 5 million watching at the time.

Smith will succeed David Tennant in the role for the fifth series, which begins filming this summer and will air in 2010.

Smith has appeared in various television productions, including alongside Billie Piper in the BBC's adaptations of the Philip Pullman novels The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North. He co-starred in the drama series Party Animals, and on stage was in Alan Bennett's acclaimed play The History Boys.

Smith was born and bred in Northampton, England, and later attended the University of East Anglia in Norwich. He is the youngest actor ever to have been cast as the Doctor in the TV series.

BBC News quotes Smith as saying: "I've got this wonderful journey in front of me where I've got this six months to build this Time Lord - and that's such an exciting prospect." Executive producer Piers Wenger has said that: "It was abundantly clear that he had that 'Doctor-ness' about him. You are either the Doctor or you are not." The BBC News site has also published a profile of Smith, while the official website has a video interview with the actor available to UK users. The first BBC News story has been updated with a clip from an interview with Smith, which is available to users worldwide.

The BBC Press Office, meanwhile, has a full release with quotes from new chief writer Steven Moffat, who was one of those behind Smith's casting. "The Doctor is a very special part, and it takes a very special actor to play him. You need to be old and young at the same time, a boffin and an action hero, a cheeky schoolboy and the wise old man of the universe. As soon as Matt walked through the door, and blew us away with a bold and brand new take on the Time Lord, we knew we had our man."

Jonny: My only personal concerns are the fact he's scarily young to be the Doctor. Granted only 3 years younger then Davison was but this guy is my age! Which is freaky. Additionally I wanted them to edge more away from the overly good looking side of it, with the Doctor kissing people all the time. It seems they want to push it as far as they can go though. Hopefully it will work.

Yeah, I've been kinda slack with making any posts that aren't status updates. Looks like it may just go that way from now on. Not sure.

Anyway, I did get some galleries up of all the exciting adventures I've been on over the last few weeks. It's been pretty much an epic adventure and that's even without counting the Northrend expedition. Gonna work on sorting out my Warcraft screenshots soon too and put those up.

iPod found

Yay. My iPod was all safe! Had a bit of stressful day...which reminds me I need to listen to the Podcast from Sunday regarding stress. It was recorded at the service at the Virtual Anglican Cathedral in Second Life that I missed due to the crazy clock changing times.

Time's still flying but I got a few things done tonight like booking flights for Christmas Week. Not sure of what we're doing for any non-family plans yet but we shall see. Done a few more things with JonnyWorld told but not much. I will leave most of it for the weekend.

Wrath of the Weekend

Only done a few things with the website this week. At the moment it's only a second priority to getting ready for the Wrath of the Lich King release that's up in, what....three weeks now? Two weeks? Time is really really flying at the moment. Not sure why the WoW feed in the bottom right of the page isn't working at the moment....or the Flickr badge come to think of it but I'll try and sort them both out when I get time this week. Then the next priority is the Archives page and then sorting stuff for the gallery I guess. Ah crap! I think I've left my iPod at work. .....gonnna see if I can track it down. >_<

Edit: After leaving the door I decided against it and that I'll leave it till tommorow morning.....I really hope it's not completely missing or I will be really really gutted.

Okay, well we're not fully up and running yet and the page still needs work but it's progress! Alot of the links are still broken or need updating and there's a few page errors but it's coming along nicely. We're back to simpler times. Easier times! Hopefully we'll be back in the swing of things in no time!

You will note there's no forum link and we're missing the archives for the last few years (as you can see in the big year gap below). The JonnyWorld Forums are not planned for a return but are being replaced by the new full-on GASH Forums where hanging out shall be done. That is still being worked on and I'm waiting for some feedback from Martin on that.

I have also set up so any status updates from Facebook/MySpace will also be posted here as tiny blog posts along with the normal blog. You will also find that the blog from here will be reposted on Facebook. Lots of exciting stuff going on but more about that when I don't need to get to bed!

I'm wondering if this is going to be as good as the old C&C or if we've all moved on from that. Red Alert did well and so did it's sequel but that's still a long time ago. The only thing we've seen in the original C&C universe since was the FPS and that didn't do as well as it could have if it had been released a bit sooner. Has the intrest gone or will this live up to it?

Paris, Police and Blood

As you may have noticed from the photo feed on the right, I went into Paris on Saturday. Had a brief walk and a Croque Madame at a small Cafe before making our way over to Rue Montgallet for some hardware shopping. I finally purchased my DJ Console for my PC which I was playing around on yesterday. When we got on the train on the way back, Wicksberg started talking really loudly saying we should kill people and steal thier stuff thinking he was very amusing. After him going on about knocking two people off and a few stations down the line we were approached by some Police Officers who made us get up and go to the doors. There the five of them stood round us as one asked questions about what we were doing here, where we lived and went through a list of dangerous things and asked if we were carrying any. Thankfully they decided we were okay and let us go and sit back down again. Sometimes Wicksberg is stupid as hell, he'd probably start going on about bombs if we took him to an airport too.

Woke about late yesterday afternoon and messed about with the Console for a bit before going to start on the washing up before I was going to eat. When I tried moving 3 glasses from the counter to the sink I somehow managed to smash one (I still can't remember how) and make a few cuts across my fingers, one reasonably deep. I managed to check the cut for glass but I'm not sure if any had been in or not. There was quite a bit of blood and I just kind of pushed it out till it was clear. I then realised I have no plasters (band-aids) or first aid kit in my apartment (which I shall have to remedy tommorow) so I tried to knock on my neighbours door across the hallway but she wasn't in so I went downstairs and tried the couple at the bottom of the stairs who had been friendly and I'd spoken to briefly previously. They had a first aid kit with disinfectant and plasters and stuff and were really good about it all as I kept apologising about bothering them. Kept loosing blood into the sink and then I nearly fainted as I whited out with everything going fuzzy and far away. They had me lie down on the floor with my feet up till the blood decided it was going to visit my head again and generally looked after me. Eventually I managed to recover and after sitting on the wet bench outside where it had been raining to get some fresh air I got it together and thanked them lots more before I went back upstairs to get some much needed food drink and rest to recover.

My hand seems okay now but I should get some fresh band-aids tommorow to replace my current ones just so I don't open the two main cuts again. Still feeling a bit funny in the head but as everyone else who was out at the Pool Hall on Saturday night feels hungover I guess I may have a tinge of that although I think I was fine yesterday. Guess it's hard to tell loss of blood and slight hangover apart when they happen at the same time.

US Continue Atrocity Coverups

BBC NEWS | Technology | Pentagon keeps eye on war videos: "Sites such as YouTube and Ogrish.com have hundreds or thousands of clips from soldiers, some set to rock music.

At their most graphic, they show the aftermath of suicide bombings and gunfights between coalition forces and insurgents.

Many include troops using foul language.

One soldier who served in Iraq in 2005 told the BBC there was 'a tight watch' being kept on video and pictures posted to MySpace, with civilian contractors monitoring the internet on behalf of the Pentagon.

The BBC has not been able to confirm that contractors are scouring the internet for inappropriate material from the military.

But US Central Command - which is responsible for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan - does have a team reading blogs and responding to what they consider inaccuracies about the so-called war on terror."

I'm not sure which of the two is worse. US soldiers who have made too many Counterstrike FRAPS videos doing the same thing with thier videos showing them killing civilians. Or the US Military trying to cover up that such things are happening and trying to change the media to only show thier own version of the war (or fixing inaccuracies as they like to call it).

On a sidenote; the former is why I left iFilm behind, it got far too "American Trash" for me. Just videos of violence and filth all the time.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Friday Storming

Hope to have some photos up of Friday soon but I don't have them so I'll have to ask about them this week. Anyway, had a great day even though it was a long one. Starbucks for Breakfast, long but amazing fantastic day at work (despite not getting everything done I needed to) and then off the train and straight to the O'Paris. Weather was hot all evening and it was great sat outside chatting and laughing with a few pints as the sun went down over Versailles. Managed to have lots of drink and then got talking to one of the big boss guys and managed not to make a fool of myself. On the Horizon for about 2 hours we could see lightning as it got closer and closer. After a while we could see forks of lighting across the sky and eventually the skys opened up, it was magnificant. As the rain came down it was really refreshing but we decided to go to Emma's apartment to carry on the partying for a bit. At the apartment we had the windows open where we watched the storm from and we had a few more drinks (which I put down cus I was spilling it on myself multiple times). We then saw various music videos and danced to the Botten Anna song and Micheal Jackson and stuff, it was great fun. Then I wandered back home via Xealous' Pit loosing Andy and Ruben along the way and then finally managing to trek all the way home which seemed effort.

Intense Gameshowing!

It's that time of year again. That time of year when it's cool showers everyday and roaming around the apartment in shorts and boxers like some kind of wrestler adverse to shirts. Yes it's hot, hot, hot. We hit 38 degrees C today, thank's to work we had A/C and fans so didn't notice as much though. The heats being felt everywhere from Molten Core to Weebl & Bob Land!

Bastille Day 2006

So Wednesday night was Versaille's Bastille Day celebrations (as they all had the next day off anyway and they tend to go into Paris for it). I exited the train station and had a quick scout to see what was going on but had an hour and a half or so before things kicked off so I went to the Pool Hall with a couple of work mates for a few drinks and giant Hotdog. After that I went down to the Place de Marche to see what was going on and there was a stage set up with some band performing on it which was okay but I lost intrest after a while and headed up to the O'Paris which is next to the Chateau. Stayed round there and met up with some people before sitting down and sipping my Smirnoff Ice as the classical music played, while I watched the fireworks go off at the front of the Chateau.

This one is someone elses video as mine didn't have quite the angle I wanted on it. Mine is also on uploaded though.

I felt quite civilised for a while there but then when that finished the O'Paris started off with the cheesy party song mix full of Frances favorite cheese (and you know they have some powerful cheeses).

So that was the warm-up for Friday's Bastille day. On the day itself I went straight from work into Paris to a famous english pub named The Long Hop where you get international people from all round the world. They had loads of really nice drinks and cocktails and it was very friendly and welcoming. I'd heard so much about this all year and never gotten down to it so far but I definatly want to go again.

So after that the plan was to whizz across the city to La Java near Belleville for a Drum and Bass night. La Java is a fantastic little basement club which apparantly specialises in Cuban Rhythms and Salsa since 1920. It even has a song written about it. The night seemed alright but quiet when I got there rumor has it these clubs don't get going properly till 1am. When I got in the DJ was playing breaks which were pretty good but I was starting to feel quite ill again and tired so after looking at the time and knowing the transport would stop soon I made the decision I would cut the night there and go back rather than being stuck and maybe not getting into it and starting to feel worse. (As I was feeling ill I forgot to get any photos of La Java sadly). So a quick hop back through the Metro sytem to get the Train at Austerlitz. But as I had feared in the back of my mind but not bargained on the train had stopped running. Okay, well then I went out side not quite knowing what to do. I saw a Taxi and asked him how much to go back to Versailles Chateau and he said about 20 euros max which was fantastic as it's usually 40. So I got into the cab and off we went across the motorways of the city with vegas like lighted signs going past us showing hotels and adverts. But then we got to a place in the city I didn't know and he started indicating we were there so an argument ensued. He had apparantly brought me to a place called Porte de Versailles which I made very clear was not where he should be taking me but he wasn't having it and wouldn't leave the main city and indicated to a bus stop where there were busses that ran to Versailles. So I though, ah okay, this must be why it's Porte de Versailles (despite not having heard of this bus before).....and yes, he was lying just to get rid of me. In fact I'm fairly certain he had not misunderstood where I wanted to go and just done it to get some easy money off a "stupid tourist" just cus I can't really speak French. This city if full of people like that, all out to get you. So there I was, in a neighbourhood I didn't know, lost with no way to get back. So I thought as I'm stuck in Paris all night I might as well get back to my friends at the Longhop. I found a nearby metro station so ran down and onto the Platform....but the Metro had stopped running too. It was only just 1am or so now, what's wrong with this city?! All the transport goes to hell from about midnight. The whole thing seems backwards and idiotic and is a bane to my social life. If you want to go into Paris you'd either better leave at 11pm or be stuck there all night it seems. So now stuck by myself in a strange part of town, the Metro map not helping my directions.

The only way to know where to go, the beacon of hope that is the Eiffel Tower as it's searchlights sweep over the city. So I set off in that way knowing that was my only hope if I didn't want to try and sleep on the street. After finding my bearing however I spotted a Taxi Stop with it's bizzare column next to it with a button to press. So I pressed the button and waited in hope.

After 10-15 minutes or so a Taxi finally pulled up so I got in, not wanting another messup and looking at the time and money already spent I decided to get him to take me back up to Notre Dame which is near the Long Hop. Sped back across the roads, past the Eiffel Tower and through the tunnel I recognised as being were Princess Diana's car had crashed near Pont Alma and up through to the Cathedral. Once I got out I walked at a brisk pace trying to find my way to the Long Hop but going the wrong way and ending up off course before having to check maps and double back. When I got there it was closed and the Bar Staff who were still tidying up said Rob K (who I had phoned after the Taxi incident) and everyone else had gone to the Seine (the river). So I went down there but didn't see them and ended up sat outside Notre Dame again not knowing what to do but feeling safer on the island. People were still sat round and it was a lovely atmosphere as people sat round listening to music in the warm breeze. And the towering Cathedral itself is comforting, like a symbol God's watching over you, y'know?

I managed to get few to Rob again after texting a few people and he indicated they were still down by the river so I crossed back over to the other side and went down the stone steps to the riverside and headed eastwards to find them feeling slightly cautious of any shady characters that may be down there (especially seeming some drunk had already laid into me cause I didn't have cigarrettes to give him and I was english). I finally found them though sipping Champagne on the riverside chatting and laughing.

It was good to be with people I knew again and we just passed the time next to the lovely view. Occasionly some youth would throw fireworks at us, some drunk people would come to talk to us and someone would throw a strop or argue about which Scandanavian country is the best. At about 4:45am we headed up and down the road untill we got to Notre Dame Pub which was absolutely packed. It also had these toilets for dwarves or something cus we had to duck down low while we were in them. Stayed and had a little dance for a bit to the DJs who were very iffy and seemed to be using fancy technology to do anything. As we danced the sun rose over the Louvre which we could see out of the window. I started feeling quite ill again so at about 5:30am I decided I'd better get the first train back and get to bed as was the plan.

The RER (Train) Station was just outside the Pub so that was fairly easy and one of the reasons I wanted to be up in that area anyway. So after a long day and a long night I set off back home falling asleep on the train a few times along the way. Finally got back home after 6 sometime and fell asleep not to rise untill 4pm that evening. Zzzzzz.....

World Cup Final 2006

Now you all know I really dislike football but I thought, why waste an opportunity for a good social event and to see France go crazy? So I journeyed out beyond these walls and into the land of World Cup Fever.
Off to watch the BIG GAME And when I say watching I mean drinking and making lots of noise while disregarding the match.

Headed out across the town and past the centre were thousands were gathered to watch the big screen they had put up in front of the Chateau.

Not much chance of meeting anyone I may know in that crowd.
So I carried on towards the Pool Hall.

When I got to the Pool Hall I found loads of my friends sat outside and the atmosphere was fantastic inside. It was very different to English fandom, all friendly and happy, not overly rowdy and no fear of violence (even to the one Italian Fan in his strip).

The drumming with the African drums and bongos was fantastic. Apparantly they started well before the match and they just kept on going like the Duracell bunny playing along to the match. As the game got faster, the drumming got faster, more tense and the drumming would match that. It was a real cool Tribal vibe and I couldn't stop drumming and dancing myself.

And then despite the dissapointing loss and the anti-climax everyone still had a great time and celebrated a great game anyway (not that I really saw any of it or anything). The Italian fan legged it as soon as the game ended out from between his two "escorts" and ran off down the road with about 13 French guys chasing him as he was shouting "VIVA ITALIA!" (but with no real threat of any violence, just in a jovial fashion). The party just continued from there really, a few dissapointed faces but things carried on as "normal". Even fireworks were let off by people...but in a way that would make Welephant cry.

Welephant says,"Remember if you plan to use fireworks you should use the Firework Code and stay safe!"

And then the night grew to a close and we where shoo'd away so I stumbled on back home.

Clonewars Chapter 16

Yes, it's been a while before getting this up online but that's bad time management on my behalf. Anyway, presenting...

Chapter 16: Jason's Metamorphasis

Meanwhile, Jason's visions continued, but they took on a somewhat different
angle. The refugees from the destruction of Old Lunaria became silver-colored
flames.

The flames divided, or rather, spread, igniting new blazes in an abstract
darkness. The total light they created was greater, but each flame was
smaller then its parent.

Jason noticed the moon above. At first it glowed orange-red, as if the fire
trapped in it ages ago was trying to get out. But as the flames grew more
numerous, the light cast by the moon changed as it grew more and more
silvery, edging toward a sparkling silver grey.

After several iterations, the total light in the area was three times as
great as when there had been only a few large flames, and new flames were
constantly coming into existance.

But then one of the first flames ceased to exist. It just went out - perhaps
from an unfelt gust of wind, or maybe it just exhausted its fuel. When it
was snuffed, the total light in the room was dimmed considerably.

One by one the first flames died, and with each death, the moon's light
dimmed a little more, moved a little more toward red.

Jason realized now that these flames were the bloodline of the Innocents
that escaped Lunaria, and married and bred with humans on the Usenet
planet. Somehow, the Lunarians had been holding the furious fire captive
within the moon. And if they died off, the red flames would escape.

Crazy Buses

You could tell it was a Wednesday again when you got on the bus which was falling apart and the french guy in a buisiness suit was burning resin and skinning up at the back. That was nothing however to the trip home. The normal bus didn't turn up but the Ninja Bus came along slightly bigger than usual but still small enough that when the driver saw us all running up to it he panicked and was trying to not have us getting on. We convinced him it was a good idea though and all piled on till it was full. The bus then struggled all the way making strainious sounds, hitting the ground occasionly and tipping at insane angles on it's suspension. There was even a problem when the back doors wouldn't close again and a red light came on and an alarm went off. As we wobbled down the hill on this poor bus the unknown French people at the front started singing "Bon Aniversaire" to someone before breaking into "Happy Birthday" for our benefit and trying to get us to join in.

Saturday Night Nacho

Last night was great. Visited Mexico first for some Nacho action and then back to mine for the evening. We then had an evening of music, drinking, playing catch, getting snacks all over the place, sliding round on my office chair and making up crazy drinks involving Kool Aid and milkshakes. Funfun!

So, got off the Train coming back from work last night and started mooching up the road but started to get confused as it seemed like a busy Friday with people everywhere. Got up to Cafe D'Express and they had a mad soundsystem just out side on the pavement with someone DJing just out on the street. This perked up my attention and I ended up wandering round and eventually caught on it was a Music Festival that we had just not heard about. Mooched past a Choir, some brass bands, some Jazz and intresting world music as I mosied (sp?) on down to Le Kilt for some French Punk.

After that I wanted to go check out what else was going on and I wondered round and it was all absolutely fantastical. Got to the main road and found loads of sound Systems playing Hardcore Techno. I got really excited and kicked myself for not having a cellphone sorted so I could inform other people about this great event everyone was missing out on. Decided to try and get Xealous so ran down to his through crowds and past live stages but when I got to his the courtyard doors were shut and a band were just out of the front of it singing Eye Of The Tiger in French accents. Bah! No raving buddy for me. :-(

So I ran back up to see if anyone was at the O'Paris yet and Mr. Swirish and Ryan were sat out front so I joined them for a moment as I downed my WhiskyCoca before they were curious to all my excitement and followed me to the Hardcore stage I found which had now become a bit more Noizecore/Breakbeat (much to thier bemusement). As they went off to explore the rest I had told them about I danced my little heart out. Took a quick break for a run back to the Kilt for a quick Absinthe to top up the ol energy and enthusiasm (and press through my lack of excercise) where I bumped into Swirish and Ryan again briefly and then I was back at the Hardcore stage. Then my breaks after that just involved walking a minute to the next satge. To my suprise on the main street all 4 soundsystems were beautiful Hard Techno systems. It was so amazing it was unbelievable. Oh and when the skys opened up that evening it was breathtaking and instead of any scattering everyone just reached thier hands to the skys and more and more ravers joined us. I kept touring between the stages loving each one equally and enjoying the happy smiley people who I somehow was managing to connect with and even swap words. People breathed fire and Poy swung through the air with the flames cutting through the rain. People everywhere were dancing in the streets and the beat continued on with the backdrop of the Chateaus and the sky above us. Wet, muddy, happy people dancing together till 1 in the morning. Finished the night winding down in the O'Paris and went home tired but content.

My shoes are insanely dirty that I'm going to have to try and wash them somehow, the pants I was wearing are frayed all round the back from where I was dancing on them cus my belt was feeling too restricting if it was sitting up high enough, my socks where knackered and somehow I even managed to tear my boxer shorts along the stitching by dancing.....which seems very very odd (or shoddy stitching) o_O

So my clothes are owned and my muscles are disagreeing with the effort but it was fantastic. That'll be my second lot of proper excerise this week, scary. On Sunday after church I was supposed to be going to a picnic in the Chateau Gardens so I walked all the way back to get there and then tried to get through the archways on the left of the main building but you had to pay to get in that bit. So I walked round the outside wall, but each entrance I found you had to pay at too and I couldn't see another from where I was so I paid the 7 euros to get in thinking it was strange as no one told me. Turns out that's just for the really fancy bit at the top and if you go further down the lanes past Garden after Garden and white marble statues everywhere and just past the grand fountain there is a public bit where everyone picnics, gathers and row boats up and down the waterway. It was an amazing place to see, the architecture, buildings dotted around, small restraunts and cafe's, miles of hedges and statues are breathtaking. King Louis has to have been the most Decadant man I can think of ever, it's insanity.

So yes, as you may have guessed, even with the directions I could remember I had no chance of finding the Picnic as there were hundreds of people out enjoying the Sunday afternoon. So I trekked and trekked for miles and miles round the grounds in the blazing 35 degrees sun hoping for a glimpse of someone I recognised knowing that my first may be quenched by the drinks waiting and knowing I could finally get some food to replenish the spent energy.

Eventually I had to give up and start heading back, with the money I spent to get in I had no money for a drink and I was dangerously exhausting myself. I managed to walk the miles back to the apartment and stumbled up the stairs to the apartment after my 2 hour walk and scrambled to down 3 pints of water in quick succession. So, no picnic but I've finally been round the gardens and c'est magnifique. Overall I think it's been an alright week so far. :-D

DEPT OF TRANSPORT INITIATIVE - MAY 2006.

There is concern over the current driving standards in England, so the
Department of Transport have devised a scheme to identify poor and
dangerous drivers.

This system will allow all road users to recognise the potentially
hazardous and dangerous ones, or those with limited driving skills.

From the middle of May 2006 all those drivers who are found to be a
potential hazard to all other road users will be issued with a white
flag, bearing a red cross.

This flag clearly indicates their inability to drive properly.

These flags must be clipped to a door of the car and be visible to all
other drivers and pedestrians.

Those drivers who have shown particularly poor driving skills will have
to display two flags:

One on each side of the car to indicate an even greater lack of skill
and limited driving intelligence.

Please circulate this to as many other motorists as you can, in order
that drivers and pedestrians will be aware of the meaning of these

UK 2006 - Week 2 (and a bit)

This post is continuing to scribe the antics of my Tour/Holiday.

On the Tuesday, being May 30th; it was just a bit of Chillaxing at home with some Warcraft 3 battles on the LAN with Hammy. Wednesday was similar to my recollection but I will have to check that with someone as my recollection isn't the best....oh wait I remember. Freaky Dave was round with some Cider and we watched Trigun and Guyver: Dark Hero.

Trigun

Trigun is an odd futuristic/wild west cowboy anime about a legendary gunman who never fires a shot. It was kinda neat and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I was going to despite it not being very eventful.

Guyver: Dark Hero

Dark Hero is a live action version of the Guyver Manga which is about alien battle suits being discovered by people on earth and strange experiments with alien technology that allows people to turn into monsters. The film was very much Power Rangers with blood meets Smallville meets Predator. Hammy and Dave say it awful but I think it's one of those good, bad-films.

Also on the Wednesday, I think it was; we watched Batman Begins as well..

Batman Begins is a fantastic film and much better than even the first Batman film. It's gotten rid of all the Cheese and gone for very much the brooding hero with lots of level of depth. The whole origins of Batman were done wonderfully and seeing his training and development of technology and the Batcave were awesome. The storyline and directing were extroadinary. Spiderman set the bar for new Superhero films and this continues with the great quality of that. The acting is superb and Micheal Kane as Alfred works far far better than I would have thought. This film is fantastic and definatly worth seeing/owning.

Thursday was the day of Haircuts. Manly Nat came round so he could get a Manly haircut with Hammy in charge and then in the end all 3 of us cutting it. After seeing Nat do his hair I was eventually convinced mine should go shorter. I had already had mine trimmed to a No.5 on the previous Monday but after various comments I decided it need to go even shorter as it was still looking rather iffy. So down it went to a No.2 ...but still not impressed, it just looked crap now. So down again to No.1 untill me and Nat were looking like we were after trouble at Thug Mansion. Hammy however had decided he wanted to keep his nice long hair although from what's being said on the Forums at the moment it looks like it might be going.

After the haircuts, cleaning up and then some Kebabs, Soul Caliber 2 and Music videos we decided it was time to head out to the pub. Firstly we went down to the Alma for some drinks and some Pool (which I still really really suck at). After a while we headed over to the Man & Scythe I think for one and then over to Number 15 who were having thier acoustic night. The Acoustic Night was fantastic, especially early on before it got busy. There was a wonderful selection of songs and people and it was nice and relaxed. The music was beautiful and it was definatly thoroughly enjoyable. I very much wish I could go more often as I really like that kind of atmosphere and watching people sing. I really wish I could sing and play guitar, it's something I really really love and one of my favorite artforms in the world. It's auditory poetry, a magical and soulful experience that is a wonderful thing to share. After some Aftershock, JD and whatever else it was I went across to join Hammy & Sion in the Varsity as Nat had to go home due to the Masters Of The Ticket summoning him forth in the morn. Stayed in the Varsity for a while before going back for the large influx of past 10pm people. There were loads of people in and I got to see lots of folks I was after seeing. I even saw a couple of people I hadn't seen for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages, so that was most aceness. Had a fantastic night overall and had a neat trek back to the Taxi Rank on the way back which involved me being yoinked through some closed pub doors, getting free chips from the takeaway and a lovely stroll.

Friday night was another night in playing Warcraft 3 over the LAN again with General Gublak (Hammy).

On Saturday we BBQ'd at Nat's in wonderful sunshine (until the sun went behind the house). We had a lovely evening and afternoon there socialising and attempting to BBQ. It wouldn't be so bad if there was an actuall proper BBQ there rather than the disposable ones as they really do not last long enough. It would get to the end of the life of each one and Nat would keep saying they were cooking and we just needed to give it time whilst in realty it was more like it was lightly warming the food which we would have to resolve using the microwave of getting another BBQ out.

Sunday morning I popped over the road for Church. It was great to see everyone there as usual and talking to people. I can reveal now at the time of writing this (16:19 11/06/2006) that it was quite wierd too as I knew it was probably the last time I'd be there with us living at the Vicarage as Dad will be moving to a new Parish. It was also quite wierd at times and really sad on my last day at the house for the same reasons. It could be the last time I am ever in there and we've gone through alot in that house. It will now be joining the old house in Manchester as a place in my dreams and memories for the rest of time. Strangely enough our Manchester house is in my dreams much more than the Bolton one as that was where I grew up and my imagination and psyche developed. It is a very promenant place in my subconcious mind and I am always finding myself around that area in my sleep rather than newer places. It is always hard for me to let go of places I have lived and these things will stay with me always. My shortish stay in Moses Gate is still full of many many fond memories even despite my fragile frame of mind during those times.

Sunday evening was a different affair alltogther as we went Missing in Manchester. Got there sometime after 6pm and Martin assigned me to door security to make sure we only had the bands and soundsystems coming through. It was an intresting few hours out there to be sure. At first Hana & Kiye were with me distributing the remaining flyers but soon enough I was out the front on Oxford Road in the middle of Manchester on the front line for Jilly's Rockworld and the Music Box armed with my shaved head and GASH T-Shirt. I was opening the doors, checking who people were and fending off the public trying to get in. At one point I was surrrounded by a group of Liverpudlians wanting to go inside and play at the gig. As the time progressed to 8:30 I started directing the arrivals up to M-Two which was starting (and finishing) an hour before we opened up the Jilly's doors. One of the Missing guys joined me out front selling some of the remaining tickets to those that didn't have them yet and helping redirect and sort out wristbands. We ended up having the guest wristbands, normal wristbands and GASHband Backstage passes which was a bit chaotic in the organisation and distribution.

The night went quite well despite being a bit quieter than we would have liked (people-wise, the volume was more than enough thankyou Mr. Sound Engineer). The whole setup, decor and lighting were fantastic, there were smiley happy people and the music was good. I have to say I was really impressed with the Stumblefunk setup. It maybe would have been better if I wasn't running round and trying to film things etc. Yes, there is video coming so I wont overwrite on it at this stage. There are alot of things I would have liked to get on the video that we missed and some rooms that were packed when I went round without and then empty when I went round with the camera. D'oh! Also taking a second video would have been good. It was all very well Anks filming so I could be on the video but it's not half wobbly. So really I would have liked to have taken the camera on my first time round but oh well, hindsight and all that. Attempting to get the video edited now but I'm having a few teething problems which I shall hopefully solve by taking the quality down from like DVD to downloadable quality and then editing it. After alot of effort, work and running around we reached the end of the night with all the remaining stages still giving it full effort. Then there was the effort packing up to the early hours before a trek through Manchester (as the vans were full of equipment and bands) and getting the Train back to Bolton feeling the power of Sleep Dep forcing itself down on me like tonnes of sand. The Sandman Commeth by Bulldozer.

Now, I can't remember when it was I watched The Incredibles....Monday or Tuesday, I'm not sure.

Now The Incredibles is a good film, don't get me wrong, it's good family entertainment. However... I feel on this film Pixar didn't quite get up to it's usual level. This felt very formula and average to me. It was entertaining but I don't think I'd particularly want to watch it a second time. Which reminds me, maybe the Superhero gags were running a bit thin after also watching...

Mystery Men

This film I actually liked more than The Incredibles. I guess it being more adult humor....well more teenage anyway made it a bit more intriguing. There were a great set of actors in this, good sets and good concepts. One of the intresting things about this film were that this has to be the least ammount of powers I' have ever seen in any Superhero movie, heh.

What I do know day-wise is that on Tuesday I was doing a mad pack and sort before having to head back on the Wednesday. This included going through all mine and Hammy's old toys and submitting a load for Jumble Saleing or such. I do also have a load of goodies to scan, record and put up on JonnyWorld which I will be sorting though along with the remaining stuff I brought back after Christmas. Lots of JonnyWorld goodies, yaaay!

So that was the JonnyWorld Summer UK Tour 2006. It was great being a novelty Jonny for a couple of weeks and I had a great time. Really wish I could have stayed another week but all good things etc. Love you all and hope that you'll be sticking round for the JonnyWorldness and we'll all get together online sometime as well I hope.

UK 2006 - Week 1 (and a bit)

This post is quite late due to the fact that I keep adding to it and putting off actually putting it up. First bit is quite short as I was very tired when I was writing it.

Last week was Celebrations for Hammy's 21st Birthday! Yaaay Hammy!

HAMMY BIRTHDAY!

Tuesday night was rockin, reallly enjoyed myself and got to see loads of people. Having the selection of drinks that I'm used to was really neat also. Met some Czechs and Slovakians, went to a crazy disco/karaoke thing.

Went for a lovely Chinese banquet on Wednesday (again for Hammy's Birthday) which we ate the leftovers of on Thursday. Then on Friday we went to Buffet King to have Chinese for a third day running and got really stuffed before goin Alma and then to Number 15 to see Kamikaze Sperm (who I've had on my iPod for ages), who Martin Ciderspiller is now the Drummer for. Rock!

Live bands all the time now in Bolton it seems, the whole seen is really taking off with not a Hawthorns in sight (or an IndieGo for that matter). GASH is well famous round everywhere and things seem to be always moving yet stationary at the same time.

Seen loads of people now with only a few people now Ive not seen who I wanted to. Some people don't seem to reply to text messages though (maybe no credit... I'll keep off that tangent though).

Had a mad adventure on Saturday night which started off with me, Nat, Billy and Gazerino going up to a little village bit up in Edgeworth for slightly odd times and a few odd people up for Nat's mate's birthday. We nearly got stranded up there though as it was a pain to get a phone signal anywhere up there in the hills and the people that were gonna go with us in a Minibus all pulled out. Eventually we managed to get through and managed to blag a Taxi up to Preston for the Mad Hatter's T-Party ...when I say up to Preston though I mean to off Junction 31a of the M65 where we stood on the grass on the side with a couple of Ducks near a some sculptures and Billy climbed a Tree in some bushes. We then got picked up an driven up through winding lanes through the countryside on the way finding lost part goers and forming a convoy up into the hills. Finally we reach the highest point on the narrow countryroad and we see Lettie jumping up and down in her Mad Hatter Hat greeting us as we drive into through the gates onto the farm. We parked up and trudged across the muddy grounds in the dark to the other side of the barn where we could already hear the pounding Techno. When we stepped through the barn door we beheld a very new and clean looking interior filled with ravers, lasers, UV and lighting all dancing around to the beats. It was really good to meet lots of people I only knew from the forums here who I'd never seen in person, especially lil' Hana and of course Plasmastorm. I was really excited about seeing Plasmastorm especially as I'd been listening to them for quite a while now on my iPod at work and after they did a GASHcast for us. Thier set was most definatly Storming too (as was most of the music that night) and I was dancing all the way through it. Had a wonderfull night and saw the sun rising up and illuminating the valleys and the surrounding farmland (and still feeling slightly lost even when I could see where we were in the light).

Eventually as the day dawned and people started to disperse it started to get a bit cold untill poor Gaz and Nat were freezing and half asleep. Billy worked a bit of magic and somehow managed to get a Taxi all the way up there...wherever there was...and all 4 of us piled in after saying bye to Kiye, Hana and the Madhatters.

On Sunday afternoon we had a family trip around the coast south of Blackpool and had a lovely relaxing time. I really enjoyed it and we went and sat on Sand Dunes and just had a really nice afternoon.

Monday we had planned to go to Chester Zoo but the weather was quit changable and featured hailstones. In the end we went to see X-Men 3 which I decided was mediocre due to the lack of proper script and storyline but Nat decided was the best film in the world he had ever seen (maybe due to comic insanity or Vodka, I'm not sure). Lucy Bell then kindly drove us to The Alma although her poor little car didn't seem to appreciate it. Spent all evening there relaxing with a brief break to have a gorgeous Kebab with chile sauce that burnt my mouth. I really enjoyed every minute of it but it felt a bit crappy when it was over but I was getting tired anyway.

Will probably be spending the next few days playing video games but we shall see what happens as there are a few people I need to get in contact with still. Oh and I should be on the Forums here and MySpace so see you around. ^_^

Yaay. I'm back en angleterre and I'm feeling good. Sat in Hammy's room now as he reads Spiderman Comics and I relax in my big red chair and sit back with the wireless keyboard.

Hammy's come over now to steal my Nintendo DS as he's really into "Hammioware". I'm just really enjoying being here and taking in the atomsphere (when it's not smelly gasses). ARGH! The demented Sparrow just attacked the window next to me. Hitchcockness. O_O

Anyhooos, we're going out later about 8pm to the Varsity for round 1 of Hammy's 21st Birthday Celebrations. Really looking forward to it, it's gonna be aceness, not sure who's coming yet and who I'm gonna see. It's aaaall nifty.

Was so knackered yesterday cus I only had like 4 hours of sleep after work before I set off for here. The Pilot on the plane was crazy again and was coming out with loads of crazy stuff on the announcements. He got us back 15 minutes early though through a technique he called 'wiggling it a bit' and 'giving the engines a good spanking'.

I shall go torment Hammy now. Byes for now!

Packing Clothes

Packing clothes for holiday is a nightmare. You have to make sure you have all you need for everything you will encounter yet you can't pack too much as it'll be too heavy. Choosing what you really want to take with you the most is well blaggy. How am I to know this week what I'll want to wear next week? I may look through and face it again tommorow because it's feeling a bit too heavy at the moment and I have to consider the weight limit and the fact I'm going to have to carry it around places. Getting tired anyway so maybe I can cast new thought on that and many other matters that need sorting, tommorow.

I have to say a big well done to David Blaine who despite what some people may say I very much admire. Unfortunatly as I had not been keeping up with news recently I had missed this adventure but it's definatly my favorite one he's done yet. I think it was a success despite not beating the World Record for holding your breath under water. It was an awesome attempt and I think living under water for a week was a feat in itself with the record as just an aftershow. Well done to him, it was an inspiring feat.

The thing was about 4-5 inches big and hairy with crazy teeth things at the front. Now be skin is all crawling at the thought of it so I'm gonna have to stop talking about it.

Yeah so Sunday I'd left my PC downloading stuff overnight and I was happily chatting on the webcam before went to check my auctions on WoW and I there was a burning smell. All of a sudden my computer just turned off. It was time to leave for work so I decided not to start messing with it or I'd be late. But of course when I got home still nothing (well except for 3 turns of the fan). So today we missioned into Paris centre to goto Rue Montgallet which is a road full of computer hardware stores. It was really cool and neat, so much stuff everywhere like a kind of hi-tech market place. Like a shit version of Blade Runner maybe. Managed to get one for cheap that was still better than the one I have already and got a case fan (that kind of fits to my case but could do with being 7cm instead on 8cm). There was so much stuff there including the DJ Console I want. Basicly my plan now after looking into everything is that firstly (well excluding the external DJ console) I need additional RAM. But if I decide I still need to upgrade my processor I will need a new motherboard. If I'm getting that I don't need to throw my current one if I buy a new flashy (non-knackered) case and then I can have this one as my secondary with all my spare bits.
After we had done the hardware shopping we then went to this really cool Metal Diablo Dungeon-esque bar which was really intresting and fantasticly decorated. It was like a small more hardcore version of Satan's Hollow. Ferret and Hemmingway were both lovely and purchased me beers due to my current money shortage. Yaaay. I think we should go back again sometime as it was really neat and I love going into Paris centre, I need to go more.

In random news I saw a human sized squirrel the other day dancing with Boy Scouts. That was wierd.

It's not physical exhaustion that's the issue for me at the moment. It's more of a mental exhaustion. My holiday is so needed right now as too much work is doing me in. I'd quite like to get to Church in the morning but I'm well aware that if I goto bed early now with the intention to do so I'm only going to sleep in again like last week so not only not get up in the morning but also miss this evening. *sigh* So I guess instead of having the intention to do that in the morning I may as well cut my losses now and just spend some time. 12 hours of sleep again would be relaxing but I'm sleeping too much as it is already and it's kind of like everything is slipping past me. I'm feeling pretty tired now but I'm tired alot at the moment after work. As soon as it's hit my lunch break this week I've been tired. Blarcklesquips!

Yes, the Thirst Of May was quenched by 14 stupid hours of drinking in a moderately responsible marathon. The only day we all have off in the year and despite the weather we were gonna ave it in style so back to the Park for us as it was last year for some Sizzlin Beebeequeue action. Thankfully despite my stoopidness of confusing the shuttle leaving at 11:30 instead of 11:00 I managed to miraculously get a lift to the site in a chauffeur kinda vibe. So got there a tad late but it was all good and people were settled.
We had a building in front of the lake and we were all congregated on the patio area. Weather was reasonable and kind of went back and forth between gray skies and the drizzle in tha skizzle. We were without much delay then attacked by a small herd of goats that wanted in on the action who tried to drink from the G-PossĂ© beer kegs. We got one of the animal loving girls though to lure them away after a while but occasionly one would come back to visit. However I've not seen one of the girls recently so she may have been eaten by a goat.
The actual BBQ was very good and manned with ze German effiancy (and randomly when I typed that Ramstein came on my iTunes randomness which is putting me off now so I'll skip track). However we only had French sausages which are not very good unless they're dried. They're kind of like loose offelly things in wierd skin. Me and the K-Krew setup a few Gazebos (there was an amusing translation incident between french and english that involved being asked to mount the tent and big things going inside the little things but I will leave that story) just for fun and to mark our Territory in case of standoff with the G-PossĂ© as it's a kind of turf war you know with the cap poppin and shit. Which reminds me there were a few of those like peddlecart things going round the park with crazy asian tourists going round and then a train was coming past, well one of those wheeled tourist things that are supposed to look like trains. Well Ross from the G-Poss and one of the other guys kind of decided they wanted a ride so ran after it saying they were gonna hijack it. Apparantly when they got there though the driver got kind of panicky and pulled a gun on them shitting them both up and then came back sheepishly traumatized and without a train ride. Awww, bless.
It was a lovely day and really good to see everyone at once. There was joking and frolicks along with insulting of everyone possible who was there for some reason. The sports involved the frizbees and balls landing in the lake repeatedly which was a bit less entertaining then watching that many people crowded round the lake wondering what to do about it.
Got the shuttle back to Versailles and then we went to the Pool Hall for most of the evening and there were quite a few of us there. Had some intresting and deep conversations and got to know some people better discussing everything from heavy metal to religious studies. Spent a good deal of time in there and it was all fantastic despite a couple of issues later. We then went to the cocktail bar La Pirogue for a Totem before I went back to Ryans to watch a bit of Logan's Run before I headed back to mine for a good long snooze. ZZzzzzzzzz......

Scouting Mission

I so need to sleep. I so need to sleep. So tired.

My friend drunk too much Jack Daniels last night and has basicly passed out across my bed while I blew up the air matress (without any pump). So I have now been trying to sleep in the sleeping bag on but is far to frickin freezing.

Had a good evening though on our scouting mission to see if Le Kilt was gonna be open . There was the bit when I was crouched down by the coffee table in the corner of Le Kilt just chatting and then all of a sudden I suddenly shot up as a Puppy ran out from between my legs. Apparantly it had been hiding under the table and decided to run at me, hehe. Yeah there was a Puppy and a normal dog and a Huuuge dog (or Gnome Mount) that could probably push you over easy. Then went back to Ryan's and played Tekken using the video projector which was aceness. Also had some mean-spicy pasta which burnt my mouth but in a good way. Oh and I saw a bit of Eve Online and it was pretty sweet if you're into that sort of thing (which I kinda am) but I don't have the time to be taking on more stuff at the moment. I don't have time to do the stuff I am doing. Too many time consuming activities and too much time going back and forth between work etc.

Anyway, gonna try and lie down again. Freezing as hell....why haven't I turned the heating on? Tirrrrreeeeed.
